The Third Festival of Contemporary Music for All  will take place across the UK and Europe over the weekend 7-8 March 2020, building on the successes of the 2016 and 2018 Festivals.

As part of the Festival, Macclesfield Contemporary Ensemble is organising a series of musical events in Macclesfield’s parish church, one of Macclesfield’s most historic buildings.

The day will kick off with two performance workshops, one for singers and one for instrumentalists. These workshops will be of about 75 minutes duration and will lead to public performances of the pieces involved. There will be no charge for participation, but we suggest a voluntary donation of £5 to help cover our costs. There will be a maximum of 30 participants per workshop.

2.00 pm Workshop 1 – Instrumental
The instrumental workshop will look at Terry Riley's In C, one of the earliest pieces of Minimalist music, and will be led by Julia Harding.
